A humorous story of a man who believes in the innate goodness of drink and how he brings his belief to others through private efforts and the efforts of his improbable persona, "Beer Man." Underneath his efforts runs a constant theme the quest for joy.

The Adventures of Beer Man eBook Eric Scheske

Beer Man's a rollicking story of a joyful beer drinker who underneath it all is a Chestertonian Thomist. It's full of discussions of ethics, political theory, personal and corporate responsibility, hedonism, the role of the "free" press, and family, all wrapped in humor and fun.

In Beer Man you'll hear many echoes of Chesterton's The Flying Inn. Lord Ivywood, Chesterton's prohibitionist Muslim wannabe, is now Puritan Paul Ivywood. And just when I'd decided Scheske doesn't pretend to have Chesterton's gift for writing drinking songs, and so has Beer Man belt out Elvis, Johnny Cash, and others instead, what happens? A Chesterton drinking song followed by Beer Man's own rhyming drinking song! And Belloc too!

Do I have any complaints? One. A Beer Man who's not a home brewer? C'mon!

The Adventures of Beer Man eBook Eric Scheske Reviews

I'd give it 3.5 or 4 stars, as far as ordinary books go. But for a 99-cent self-published effort? I would give it 5 stars. It's funny, but it also makes you think, and that's a rare combination.
A fun and easy adventure story with a positive message if only everyone sat and drank a beer (or two), the world would be kinder, gentler, more charitable, and more enjoyable for all. The forces of Puritanism (and that other devil, Debauchery) don't stand a chance when Beer Man with his mellow, rational thought, his trusty side-kick Three-Two and his tricked out Beermobile is near. Best read on a porch or deck with your feet propped up and a brew in hand.
Caution This book will make you want to drink beer (and maybe wine, Schnapps, and other things). It'll also make you laugh. Recommended.
After you read this story, when you're enduring a deadly-dull event, you'll hope for the arrival of Beer Man, and his assistant Three-two. A fun, thought-provoking story of the how, when, why (and why not) of drinking.
Great read!

I highly recommend this to those of "us" who are fans of good friends and good drink.

The Adventures of Beer Man is a light-hearted tale with a simple message, for those who allow his/her inhibitions to take a back seat and step away to their own Beer Room; Knock a couple back, do a keg stand or contemplate the complexity, character and potential - and "become a source of joy and comfort".

Cheers, (swig) Mr. Scheske!
What could be better than a beer-drinking and beer-sharing superhero with the power to bring happiness and enlightenment to any event? Why, a beer-drinking and beer-sharing superhero that is also the incarnate representation of all that is pure and good about drinking, of course.

In The Adventures of Beer Man, Eric Scheske deftly creates and defines this complex idealism through the character of Roy Tate/Beer Man. If you're expecting sophomoric, hedonistic humor, you're in the wrong place. But if you're open to a fresh, lighthearted and witty point of view about liquor laws and the antiquated societal opinions about drinking, you will thoroughly enjoy what Beer Man - both the story and the character - have to offer.
First (and most importantly) this is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Fun, in fact. Point two, its extreme originality blows me away. Three, the whole thing is less a work of standard fiction and more in the genre of allegory its purpose, it seems to me, is to instruct, teach, and carry a message in a highly palatable (I almost said drinkable) form. The character of the Puritan is truly diabolic, and a worthy villain for this work of fiction (we wouldn't enjoy meeting him in real life). Author Scheske is to be congratulated for the freshness and novelty of this work.
